Causes of the 1641 Rebellion

The causes of the 1641 rebellion are complex and professional historians remain divided on what caused the rebellion to break out. Here students must wrestle with the central historical question ‘what was the most likely cause of the 1641 rebellion?’ In order to answer this question they engage with a number of primary documents aided by guiding questions. In order to come to a decision, they must really think historically.

Classroom set up: designed for a 40 minute class, group work, data projector needed to watch videos, no student computers needed.
