Understanding Massacres in their Historical Context: What happened at Portadown?

The massacre at Portadown is one of the most infamous but poorly documented events of the 1641 rebellion. Here students use a mixture of both visual representations and conflicting witness accounts to come to grips with what happened. Once again in order to come to the decision of ‘what happened at Portadown?’ they must really think historically.

Classroom set up: designed for a 40 minute class, group work, data projector needed to watch videos, no student computers needed.
