The Lord Mcguire Examined
sayth that aboute the tyme when mr Jhon Bellew came out out of Engeland with the Commission for the continuance of the present parliment Roger moore in the sayd moores Chamber in the Howse of one Peeter de Costen acquainted him that if the Irishe would rise they might make theyre owne conditions for the regayneinge of theyre lands & freedome of theyre Religion at which tyme the sayd Moore acquainted him alsoe that he had spokeen with sundry of lenster whoe would bee readie & alsoe that he was assured that a good parte of Connoghe would doe the same & therevpon He mooued the Examinat to ioyne with all he could make vnto which motion the examinate yeelded And the next daye followeing their was an other meetinge in the same place where were Coll mc Bryan mc Mahoone Tirlogh o Neale Phillip mc Hugh o Reley the Examinat & Roger Moore where discourse was was had of that business but notheinge was concluded on but that Roger Moore & the rest

Collonell Plunkett & Captayne ffoxe and the Examinat acknowledgeth further that Hughe mc phelim Captayne Conn o Neale & Bryan O Neale brought from Owen o Neale out of fflanders the very same message which the sayd preest brought And the Examinat further sayth that he was tould by Roger Moore that a great Noble man was in the plott but he might not name him for the present a tyme and at an other tyme he the Examinat was informed during in the sitting of the parliment the la st summer by one Jhon Barnewell a ffransiscan ffryer a residen of this Cittie that those of the pale were privie vnto the plott meaneinge concerneinge the Rebellion And further that of those persons whoe came to attend the examinat for the surprise of the Castle onely Cohonnagh mc Gwyer was privie <name those that came with him> vnto the businese in hand & that the last meetinge when the daye appointed for Execution thereof was resolued on was at logh Ross where were present only Ever mc Mahoone vicke generall of the County of Moneh Diocese of Clogher Thomas mc Kearnan a ffryer of Dundalke Sir Phelim o Neale Roger Moors Bryen & O Conn O Neale And alsoe sayth that he & other rest whoe were privie to the plott resisded opposed in parlement the goeinge of the men raysed heer for Spayne in regard they intended to make vse of them heer
