Geo: Stockdale Co: Dublin: Book A: sayth { } which lettres to Rory mcGwire ô Moore desiring him to bring all his forces to take Tirdagh, And that as soone as he had done there he would come to ayde the sayd Rory ô More to to take in Dublin, and settle him in his place of Justiceship, the sayd Rory being then elected by the Gentry of Leinster to be Lord Deputy of Ireland.
At Morlington the deponent saw Sir Phelim ô Neale, where he often heard him sweare God damme him and sinke him if ever he would rayse his siedge from Drogheda till he would sterve them all out = and he hearde one mr McGwire then sweare by his saviour, that he would never leave Drogheda till he had eaten Sir Henry Tythbornes heart broyled on the coales, and that every one of his souldiers should eate a protestants heart.

William Metcalfe: Co: Meath: Booke B: sayth, That he was credibly informed by a servant man to Sir Phelim ô Neile and by diverse others of creditt, that a little before the rebellion begunn Sir Phelim Mortgadged or rather obtruded vpon one mr Walter Cope neere the Carrick a certaine parcell of land and received for it 800 li. And that therevpon the sayd Sir Phelims servants sayd vnto him, why have you mortgadged this being all the land you have to live vpon for this 800 li., And that Sir Phelim answered, It is no matter, for I have the sayd mr Copes mony now, and will have his head besides within this fortnight, and he shall have none of my Land.
