Thomas Sarsefeeld sworne & examined
sayth that beinge imployed by his Maister Mr Sarsefeald of Lucan for the conveighing of a letter vnto Mr Brytton & Mris Moore at Lyons in which letter of his sayd masters there was one enclosed sent by the Lord Justicess vnto Mr Britton concerninge the sayd Mris Moore And the examinant comeing vnto the Gate of the sayd lyons he was admitted to come comm into the Courte but noe further & there his letters were received from him & after 4 hours attendance the annswer he receiued was that if he had not been a person well knowne he should not returne but t his examinant should cost him his life to presume to bringe a letter thether from the state And the examinant sayth that there were then in the house Roger Moore Corronall Birne & Corronell ffitz Gerrold with diverse others
And that there were and his Judgement to bee seen on the Hills thereabouts noe lesse then 1500 li. or 2000 men & he herrde there were many more go th e very to bee gathered vnto a head [
