William Mandefeild of the Citty of Dublin Clothier sworne & examined deposeth That on or about the Nyneteenth of O this instant October 1653 he this deponent being in conference with one Nicholas Buckley of Thomastreete Dublin <A> weaver concerning the death of Jane fflood the wife of Phillip fflood late of the Naas deceased Hee the said Nicholas fflood in Dublin aforesaid told & averred vnto him this deponent, that one John Murfy vpon view of the said Jane fflood & vpon heareing of her say that the the Irish then there were Rebells or rogues, grew angry And said to the souldiers then present If you doe not take her away & hang her, burne her or take make her away shee would be the cawse that the Rebells (meaneing the English) would distroy them all meaneing the Irish Rebells of that Towne And that therevpon some of the souldjers then present tooke her away & hanged her the same night
