James boy ô Kirovans Examinacion taken before the Court
That hee was a soldier lived in Carlo with maior Harmon in the begining of the warr, & that going out of the Castle hee was taken prisoner by the Irish & when hee was released hee <A> entertained himselfe a soldier in Captain Bagnalls Companie in Laughlin, but was not trusted by the Irish beecause he had served an Englishman; & further saith that one day hee was forced to goe with a Convoy of the said Company to Convoy some English: & hee saw one Charles Dempsy (Deputy Governor of Laughlin) give a paper to Ja. ffreny & they Commanded this examinant to hang one Richard Lake & this d Examinant denyed whervppon they beat this Examinant & wounded him, and at last this Examinant was forcet to hang the said Lake & denyeth that hee had any of the said Lakes cloathes but a pair of old stockins: and further saith that the same day that Lake was hanged when this dep Examinant returned to Laughlin Collonell Bagnall was there & this Examinant told the said Collonell Bagnall that of the hanging of the said Lake but hee made no answer other then that this examinant should bee safe al further saith not
