The exa further examjnacion of { } Lisagh alias Lewis Moore taken the xxiijth of Nouember 1653 before vs Sir William Gilbert knight Collonel William Edwards and Thomas Richardsone esquire Members of the high Court of Justice appointed for takeing examjnacions concerning murthers and massacres &c.
Who beeing examjned saith, That about three daies before the begining of the Rebellion the examjnant <A> beeing then liueing at Carrickstickin in the County of Armagh, the examjnant brought vpp ffifty men towards Ballrenett in the County of Killdare with intencion to carry them for spayne vnder the comand of a Collonell Porter whose name the examjnant knoweth remembreth not but the examjnant heareing that of the breakeing out of the rebellion returned backe to his owne dwellling and dispersed the said ffifty men who allsoe repered to theire seuerall former dwellings, The examjnant further saith, that hee did not beseige [ ] Castle=Carberry in the County of Killdare, but after that it was beseiged by Capten Gerrald <B> ffitz=Gerrald and others of the Irish the examjnant came to the said seidge, Hee further saith that hee was not at the seidge when CastleCarbery was surrendred, neither doth hee know of any quarter that was giuen to the Lady Cooly or her son or any others in the said

said Castle, Hee saith that about [ ] two or <C> three daies after the deliuery vpp of Castlecarbery Dudly Cooly son to the said Lady Cooly was brought prisoner to the examjnant (who then comanded the Irish guarrison at Ballina) by [ ] Garrald ffitz=Gerrald then one of the Irish Captens and then that hee continued prisoner with the examjnant about six monthes and was afterwards discharged by the Counsell at Kilkenny Hee further saith not, that hee doth not remember that [ ] at any tyme hee did write to the said Garrald ffitz=Gerrald or any other [ ] concerning the quarter to bee giuen to the persons in Castlecarbery, or to cause the said Lady Cooly Carbery or her children to bee brought to Ballina, and to kill all the men seruants that were in the said Castle or any lettre to that effect, And further saith not,
