The examjnacion of Walter Weldon of Roseberry in the County of Killdare Gent aged twenty seauen yeares or thereabouts taken the day of
Who beeing duely sworne and examjned deposeth and saith, That soone after the begining of the Rebellion the examjnants mother Ann Welldon widdow then liueing at Rosberry aforesaid beeing fearefull to continue or liue there least the Rebells should destroy her and her children, repayred with them to Dublin and left behind her in the said house one Joan Blood seruant to the examjnants said mother who had direccion to looke to the goodes in the said house and to send them if shee could to Dublin and to obserue who would meddle with them, if any of the Rebells would attempt to pilladge the said house, The examjnant further saith that soone after his mothers repayre to Dublin as aforesaid <A> Patricke Sarsfeild son to Peter Sarsfeild of Tully in the County of Kildare to whom the examjnants mother was tennant for the said lands of Roseberry sent one William Harrold seruant to the said Patricke to possesse himselfe of the examjnants mothers house and goodes vnder pretence of keepeing them for the examjnants said mothers

mothers vse, where the said William Harrold <B> continued for about fowre monthes and the said Joan Blood continued in the said house all the tyme aforesaid, The examjnant further saith that about two monthes sithence William Graham one of the Troopers vnder the comand of Major Meredith tould the examjnant that the said William Harrold haueing beene in the said examjnants mothers house as aforesaid, and beeing vnwilling that the said Joan Blood should obserue his actions in the said house brought as is conceiued seuerall of the Irish Rebells into the said house to murther the said Joan Blood but shee haueing some intelligence thereof (as the said Graham tould the examjnant), the said Joan Blood went on the topp of the said house where there was a sinke and there did hide herselfe from the said Rebells, and after that the said Rebells had made search for her and could not finde her they went out of the said house, which the said William <C> Harrold perceaueing and beeing well acquainted with the places in the said house went vpp to the topp of the said house to looke for the said Joan Blood, and there discouering her tooke the said Joan Blood by the hand out of the said sinke and brought her downe stayres (as the said Graham tould the examjnant) and then the said William Harrold immediatly

immediatly went out of the said house and called the said Rebells backe againe into the said house, who beeing come into the said house accordingly (as the said Graham tould the examjnant) the said William Harrold deliuered the said Joan Blood into the hands of the Rebells, and sayd vnto them goe and dispatch your busines, wherevppon the said Rebells carryed the said Joan Blood about a muskett shott from the said house and there one of the said Rebells shott her in the backe and killed her, as the said Graham tould the examjnant
