Teige Kelly sworne & examined
saith that beinge sent by his Captayne Sir Jhon Sherlock the 13th of this present vnto Sutten of Tipper & at Newcastel to have his the sayd Suttens pass to carry a letter directed from by the sayd Sir Jhon vntoMr Christopher Sherlock his ffather neer vnto the Naase He this examinant was apprehended by the certeyne souldjers of one Captayne Donell before he came at the sayd Towne of Newcastell which soudjers conveyed the examinant as a prisoner vnto the Church of Newcastell wher the Rebells Courte Gary Garde was kept & there whilst he was beinge searched strictly in searcheing the sayd Corrnell Sutten came & received from him the examinant the letters & the examinat was therevpon kept in boults for fiue daye in boultes & every daye appointed to bee hanged but at length the examinat made an escape
And the Examinat sayth that at his beinge soe in the Rebells hands He then sawe thess Captaynes & corronells followeinge namelie Roger Moore
