The examjnacion of Roger MacNemarra of Rathregan in the County of Meath yeoman aged thirty yeares or thereabouts taken the fifth day fourth day of January 1653 before Captain William Edwards and Thomas Richardson esquire members of the high Court of Justice appointed for takeing examjnacions &c.
Who beeing duely sworne and examjned deposeth and saith on the xvijth of March last 1644 or thereabouts the examjnant beeing then in the <A> house of Richard Teige McGowny of in the Dengen in the County of Meath there were present in the said house Gerrald Wesley and Robert Tath (both since dead) and se u erall Walter Cusacke of Rathregan and Robert Cusacke of Dingen and seuerall others whose names the examjnant remembreth not, all the said persons beeing drinkeing in the said house of Richard Teige McGowen, The Examjnant further deposeth that about eleuen of the clocke at night of the day aforesaid, their Edward Wesley now prisoner in Dublin and Teige fflanegan both then seruants to the said Gerrald Wesley came into the said Richard Teige McGowens house, and vppon theire <B> comeing in as aforesaid the said Gerrald Wesley asked them where they had beene and the said Edward Wesley answeared in the Irish

Irish language that hee and the said Teige fflanegan had beene lookeing for the worth of a mantle or a skeane for themselues and said further heere is a Coate that wee tooke from an English soldier whom wee mett neere Longwood, The said Garrald Wesley answered that and said to the said Edward Wesly that was not well done, now in Cessacion tyme, wherevppon the said Edward Wesley replyed, wee neede not feare for the said English soldier will not come to complaine for wee haue made an end of him, meaneing as the examjnant conceiues that they had murdered the said soldier, which afterwards the examjnant heard they had done And further saith not,
