<A> The Examinacion of Henry McGawley of Balliloughloe in the County of Weastmeath gentleman: taken beefore mee Sir Gerrard Lowther Knight one of the Comissioners for Administracion of Justice at Dublyn and one of the Justices of th peace &c for the County of Weastmeath &c taken the 26th of Aprill 1654: whoe beeing examined sayth:
That hee hath heard of Edmond Dalton Eldest sonn of Richa{rd} Dalton late of Mullimeaghan in the County of Weastmeath deceased And hee hath lately heard that hee was married to one Kinge a daughter of the late Bushapp of Ellfinne And hee <A> hath heard that that the said Edmond was hanged by one Oliver McGawley of Raduffe in the said County of Weastmeath gentleman, And he further sayth that hee hath heard that one James Malone of Bullicallroen in the aforesaid County was alsoe present at the hangeing of the said Edmond Dalton, and hee doth not know of any other that was present. And sayth that hee knoweth John McGawley and that hee heard hee lived before {he} came to bee this deponents servant at Naleagh in the af{ore}said County and that about fiue yeares since this deponent Intertayned him as his servant to oversee his sheep, and that hee continued as a servant with him this deponent for the space of one yeare, and staid out of his service for one or twoe yeares and then came againe and staid with this deponen{t} for two or three yeares more And that hee went from him againe & left his service about three quarters of

a yeare or more before the takeing of this Examinacion And that hee never heard that the said John McGawley was present at the hangeing of the said Edmond Daulton vntill after the somons issued against the said John McGawley <B> And sayth that hee knoweth not where the said John is but heard that when hee went from him this deponent hee went into the woods and from thence to Connaght and that there hath been diligent search made for him in the woods in the woods before his goeing into Connaght by the Garrions of Athlone and some of the Countrie, and that hee [ ] hath since heard that the said John McGawley went into Connaght And further sayth that hee knoweth not where James Malone is but hath heard that hee came towards these quarters about about neare Dublyn about a yeare or two agoe And further sayth not:
