December the 9th 1653.
<A> Memorandum that Con Connor of Lissard in the County of Longford gentleman this day made Oath that on or about the first day of this instant december hee was shewed a summons (vnder the hand of the lord President of the high Court of Justice sitting at Dublin) requiring him amongst others therein named to appeare at Dublin to testifye their knowledge in the behalfe of the Common wealth, a coppie whereof hee tooke which is is hereunto annexed, which summons on or about the said was brought and shewed as aforesaid to this deponent at his owne house at lissard by three men who called themselus Sheriffs Bailiffs that is to say One Nugent and one ffox and one fferrall but their Christian names hee knoweth not And further deposeth that the said three persons quartered themselus at his house all that night where they had not victuals and lodging, and the next morneing wold need haue had two shillings six pence a peece from this deponent besides their said entertainement, and did then and there exact and receive two shillings six pence from this deponents wife which shee paid them (against his mind) fearing they deponent shold quarrell with the deponent the said three persons having every one a

a sword And further deposeth that hee did <B> formerly know the said three persons to be as very Toryes (that is to say Idle persons and Robbers) in the tyme of the late Rebellion as any were in the said County of Longford
