The examinacion of Tirlagh Murphy of Clansarragh yeoman aged thirty fiue yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Michaell Laffan of Hooke in the barrony of Shelbyrne, & County of wexford gent
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant saith and deposeth that he well knew the said Michaell, who liued at Hooke aforesaid in the said Barrony and County in the Irish quarters the first yeare of the rebellyon, & ever sithence from whence hee did not remooue into the english quarters, as mr Myers <x> & other english & protestants in that barrony did His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent dwelt within two miles to the said Michaell Laffan for some yeares before and since the said Rebellyon
<To the 2d Interr> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th> The deponent saith That the said Joh Michaell Laffan was in Armes the first yeare of the said Rebellyon Contributing his person and endeauours to the promoting thereof, and that the said Michaell did act and abet the said Rebellyon & the robberyes therein Comitted vpon the english & protestants: The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Michaell between Hallantide and Christmas 1641: with his seruants & others driving twenty cowes or thereabouts with garrans & other cattle through the barrony of Shelbyrne <y> which cattle were brought by them from the County of waterford from the english & protestants there & this deponent saith that he did see the said Michaell & his Company when they brought over the said cattle from Passadge into the said Barrony, & as this deponent verily beleiues the said the cattle of walter Williams a protestant vncle to this deponent were parte of that prey the said walter being at thet time plundered, for that he was a protestant And the deponent further saith That after the said plunder the said Michaell vsurped, & tooke possession of the howse of Kilclogan, the habitacion of one mr Myers a protestant then fled, thence into england where the said Michaell Continued for a short time making

Spoile of the said Myers corne & goods that he could come at, and from thence the said Michaell remooud & Came to the Rath of ffetherd, where William Jones the deponents father in law (a protestant) then dwelt, which howse the said Michaell & foure or six men of his Seruants in Armes entered by force, & kept themselues there in Nature of a guarrisson against the english & did during their abode there thresh & eat the Corne of the said William Jones his poultry & butter without his the said Williams Consent: In which Jones his howse the deponent then kept, and further saith not &c
