    The examinacion of Thomas Connicke of Templetowne in the barrony of shelbyrne & County of wexford Taylor aged about fortie yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning James Lewes of the Graiges in the said Barrony & County gent
    <To the 1st inter> The examinant deposeth and saith that the said James Lowes did liue at Graiges in the said County in the Irish quarters the first yeare and the whole time of the rebellyon, and did not thence remooue into the english quarters as he might haue done As well as his neighboures mr <z> Nicholas Loftus, the Lady Colclough & others protestants did – his cause of knowledge is for that he the deponent was frequently at the said James his howse working at his trade
    <To the 2d interr> Hee cannot depose
    <To the 3d interr> Hee deposeth and saith that the said James Lewes did send forth a seruant of his in Armes to the be of and serue in the trayne band raysed in that barrony vnder the Comand of Capt John Rochford <a> for the Irish against the english: the cause of the deponents knowledge is for that the deponent was himselfe a seruant & tennant to the said James, but the certayne yeare, or the seruant sent forth to the trayne band the deponent cannot call to minde at present
    <To the 4th inter> Hee deposeth that the said James Lowes and in the first yeare of the warre had at nights in his bawne about twenty of his tennants <b> some with pikes, & others with other weapons as pitchforkes & darts (whereof the examinant was one) which said number watched there for defending of the said James Lowes, his howse & cattle & their owne cattle against the english that bellonged to Duncannon forte, & soe this deponent & his fellow tennants Continued watching

    for a whole yeares space [ ] from the time that the english party burnt Kilclogan, and other small villages
    <To the 5: 6: 7
    8: & 9th> Hee Cannot depose
    <To the 10th Inter> The examinant deposeth that Imediately after the slaughter of the english Comitted by the Irish at Redmonds hall, vizt vpon St Margarets day in the moneth of July in the first yeare of the warre the deponent did see John Lowes and Phillipp Lowes sonnes to the said James [ ] neere the said mr Redmonds howse in Company and amongst the Irish that killed the english at the place and Looking vpon the english corpes soe slayne as aforesaid but whether the said John & Phillip were then in armes the deponent cannot certainely averre: And further saith that the deponent did see the said John & Phillip the next day after the said Murther of the english, & at seauerall times since in Company with & at meat with their said father, in his howse at Graiges
