The examinacion of Patricke Codd of whitehowse gent aged about fortie yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concernin{
<To the 1st interr> The Examinant deposeth and saith that he well knew the said Paule Turnor & to his personall knowledge the said Paul{
<To the 2d interr> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3d interr
&4th> Hee deposeth and saith that this deponent hath seen the said Paule in actuall Armes for the Irish against the english in the seacond yeare of the rebellion, And that the said Paule did abet & to his vtmost forward the said <h> rebellyon for that this deponent hath seen him the said Paule presse and force men to goe out of the parish of Roslare, vnto Roslare forte then Comanded and gouerned by the said Paule in the behalfe of the Irish: And the deponent beleiueth that the said Paule did contribute in the publicque Levyes, raysed for maintenance of the Irish forces. The said Paule being a man of a good stocke & substance & the said Levy being soe general a thing, that he conceiues the said Paule could not evade the payment thereof

<To the 7th interr> Hee deposeth and beleiveth that the said Paule did take the oath of Associacion it being a Comon thing <i> & generally taken by all sortes of people of the Irish & the deponent being Compelled to with others to take the said oath

<To the 9th interr> The Examinant deposeth and saith that the said Paule had <k> the gouerment of and was Comander of the fote of Roslare, & Captaine thereof and of the men

guarrissoned therein: His cause of knowledge is that the examinant hath seen the said Paule in person Comand the men in the said forte, & presse men in the Countrey to serue as souldyers therein, & that he hath seen the said Paule as Act as Comander & gouernor of <L> the said forte seaverall times: And that the said Paule was the first Comander or g or Capt of the said forte after that the same was el erected & raysed by the Inhabitants of the towne of wexford
<To the 10th inter> Hee deposeth that the said Paule had two Sons Namely Thomas and John, both at Mans estate who lived <m> in the Irish quarters the whole time of the rebellion And as this deponent credibly heard, the said John was in the forte of Duncannon at the time the same was kept and defended by the Irish against the english since the accesse of the Lord Cromwell to this nacion

13th inter> Hee cannot depose, and further saith not &c onely that to the deponents personall knowledge such of the Irish that were pyrates at sea were sheltred at & had accesse vnto & were <n> releived by the said Paule during his continuance in that Imployment and Comand
