    The Examinacion of Nicholas Stafford of Codstowne gent aged about sixty nyne yeares taken vpon oath, on the behalfe of the Comonwealth, concerning John Deuereux of Mountpill in the County of wexford esquire
    <To the 1st Inter> The Examinant deposeth & saith, that the said John Deuereux di{d} the first yeare of the rebellion, and many yeares since liue at Mountpill aforesaid, then of the Irish quarters, & did not remooue thence into the english quarters, As he might haue done, with many english & protestants <t> Liuing neere the said John.
    <To the 2d Inter> He cannot depose.
    <To the 3d Interr> He deposeth, that he credibly heard & beleiueth that the said John did actuallie contribute in the publique Levyes to the Irish as others of the Countrey did, for <u> Maintenance of the Irish forces, then raysed against the english in the said county of wexford,
    <To the 4th Interr> The deponent saith that the said John Deuereux was in Actually Armes the first yeare of the Rebellyon, for abetting and aduancing the same, And did with A partie vnder his comand, Summon the castle of Tinterne then guarrissoned, by the english, which castle the said Deuereux tooke from the english therein, for the Irish Interest, And that the said John Deuereux was <w> to, and did receiue for a reward of that his seruic{e} A towne and farme called the Booley: His the deponents cause of knowledge is for that the said John Deuereux & Likewise John Colclough the Deponents brother in law (who was afterwardes interested in the estate of Tinterne) told the deponent
    <To the 5th Inter> The deponent saith that he credibly heard and doth verily beleiue, that the said John Deuereux was <x> at seauerall publicque meetings of the Irish, in order to the carrying on the Rebellyon against the English before the 10th of Nouember 1642: as the deponent well remembers.

    <To the 7th Inter> The deponent saith that he beleiues the said John Deuereux <y> did take the oath of associacion, being a generall thing Imposed ouer on the gentry of the whole Countrey.
    <To the 6th Inter> The deponent saith and beleiueth that the said John Deuerux was present at, and Joyned with the meetings of the Irish in electing of men for the generall Nationall <z> assemblies: whether the said meetings were and elections were in the first or seacond yeare of the rebellyon the deponent doth not at present possitiuelye remember
