Robert Browne of Knockingall yeoman aged thirty yeares or thereabouts being duely sworne & examined Concerning the foresaid Luke Keating of Kilcowan gent deceased Deposeth & saith That he well knew the said Luke for that the deponent dwelt within halfe a myle to the said Lukes habitacion, And further saith that the said Luke did act & abet the rebellyon & Robberyes Comitted vpon the english in the first yeare & before the 10th of Nouember 1642: for that the deponent did see the said Luke with seauerall Armed men in his Company & vnder his Comand to in Nouember one thousand six hundred forty one to bring vnto Kilcowan, within halfe a mile of this deponents habitacion, a great Number of cowes garrans, & sheep the Number this do examinant doth not know, which the said Luke & Company brought [ ] & <w> plundered out of Munster from the protestants there, which cattle the said Luke disposed of to his owne vse, And saith that the seauerall of them that went on plundering with him the said Luke were of his kindred & houshould seruants where[ ] whereof about thirty were killed by the Lord president of Munster, who pursued the said partie the prey, And the deponent being demanded, who of the said Lukes party then plundering in Munster are aliue, saith that Olliuer Keating brother to the said Luke was there, & Leiutenant to his brother & that one Thomas Hanraghan servant to the said Luke are yet liuing And the deponent further saith that he did see the said Luke on horsebacke in Armes with the Irish that beseiged Duncannon forte at Christmas 1641: As alsoe the said Olliuer Keating brother to the said Luke was at the afore sai d seige in Armes in the Capacity of Leiutenant to the Irish, & was taken prissoner by some of the Lord Esmonds partie, but afterwardes released: And further saith that the said Luke had seauerall fowling peices, musquets & other Armes in the beginning of the rebellyon, wherewith he Armed the Company that he carryed into Munster as aforesaid
