    Thomas Hanraghan of Kilcowan yeoman aged forty fiue yeares or thereabouts being duely sworne & examined Concerning the foresaid Luke Keating of Kilcowan gent deceased saith & deposeth that he well knew the said Luke Keating, which said Luke dwelt at Kilcowan in the Irish quarters all the tyme of the Rebellyon, to whom this deponent was seruant a tennant & liued <liued> within a quarter of a mile to the said Luke & sometimes with him: And further saith that about Christmas 1641: the said Luke Armed seauerall of his <x> tennants & acquaintance, to the a considerable Number of thirty or thereabouts, & Marched with them as their Captayne and Comander, & had his brother Olliuer Keating for his Lieutenant with whom he went into the County of waterford & there Comitted plunder on the english & protestants goods & Cattle, & brought the same to his habitacion at Kilcowan The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the said Luke acquainted the examinant of his goeing th into the County of waterford, & Comanded the deponent to accompany him in Armes thither which the deponent accordingly did, & afterwards the deponent did see seauerall sheep & heifers in the possession of the said Luke by him brought from the County of waterford as aforesaid, And further saith that shortly after that plunder the deponent with the foresaid Olliuer Keating one Richard ffitzNicholas of great Island yet Liuing, did goe to the landes of New Rosse & neere vnto the wales thereof did Bring twenty three or twenty foure cowes, there grazing of the proper goods of one Thomas Clarke of Rosse then a protestant, which cowes being brought to Dunganstowne

    Luke Keating
    the said Lukes fathers howse (where the said Luke then was) the said Luke tooke all the foresaid cowes vnto him selfe and possessed them except two that the said Olliuer Keating had & one that the said Richard fitznicholas & one other that the deponent had of the said Number for their seruice in that behalfe for which cow that this deponent enjoyed, he Compounded with the said Thomas Clarke & gaue him fiue poundes for the same & that the said Lukes widdow & Relict satisfyed the said mr Clarke ten pou{nds} in liew of what goods Cowes the said Luke had, of the goods of the said Clarkes, as the said Lukes widdow informed this deponent <y> both which Composicions were made about halfe a yeare since, vpon sight of a sumons from Dublin brought by the said Clarke to worne the deponent & Luke Keatings widdow thither, to answeare his Complainte Concerning the foresaid cattle, & further Cannot depose
