Edward Synnott of Dungulph gentleman aged thirtie one years or thereabouts deposeth concerning the said Hugh Cauanagh of Kilcorkie gentleman That the said Hugh did act and abet the said Rebellyon, & massacres against the english in the first beginning of the said Rebellyon, by being a Captaine and hauing the Comand of a Companie of foote in the Regiment of Sir Morgan Cauanagh knight to whom this deponent was then Seruant The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the Deponent did see the said Hugh Cauanagh at Clonemullin with his Companie amongst other forces, gathered thither whereof Sir Morgan Cauanagh was <n> Comander in cheife, whither they came to receiue orders of the said Sir Morgan, At which time, and from whence the said Hugh Cauanagh with his owne Companie, & the other forces, marched to Kilrush where they met with and fought against the english, it being about Easter 1642: and further saith not &c
