The examinacion of Robert Browne of Knokingall farmer aged about forty Thirty yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Arthur Cheeuers of Ballimadder in the County of wexford gent
<To the 1st interr> The deponent saith that the said Arthur dwelte in the County of Wexford in the Irish quarters the whole time of the rebellyon, from whence he did not remooue into the parliaments quarters, as he might haue done, as well as Nicholas Row <g> mr Humpheryes, & other protestants liuing in the barrony of Bargie, wherein the said dwelt did Arthur dwelt
<To the 2d interr> Hee saith that about Michelmas 1649: the said Arthur vpon the Lord Cromwells Accesse to this County with his Armie fled from his habitacion at Ballimadder, to the County <h> of Kilkenny into the Irish quarters, for noe other reason knowne to this deponent, then to fly from the english & to auoyd their gouerment His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Arthur in the County of Kilkenny flying from the english as aforesaid
<To the 3d inter> The deponent saith that the said Arthur did in the first yeare of the rebellyon & before the 10th of Nouember 1642: actually contribute his owne person, & seauerall of his seruants in <i> Armes, whose Names the deponent doth not remember except Patricke Synnot, & walter ô Murrow, His cause of <To the 4th interr> knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Arthur with his seruants Patricke & walter aforesaid, against Duncanon forte in the first yeare of the said Rebellion amongst the Irish that beseiged the same
<To the 4th interr> The deponent saith that the said Arthur did act & abet the rebellion in the first yeare thereof being by his being in Armes <k> against the english at Duncannon as aforesaid & for being afterwardes an officer of the Irish volunteers that went out of Bargie to fight against the Lord of ormond & the english Armie at Ballibegg neere Rosse the deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Arthur

<To the 9th inter> The deponent saith that the said Arthur was a Captaine of the <l> Irish volunteers at the fight of Ballibegg as aforesaid his cause of knowledge formerly apperes
<To the 10th inter> Hee saith that the said Arthur had a brother by name John Cheeuers who was Lt to Collonel william Browne in the first Sumer of the rebellyon & afterwardes: His And that the <said> John & the said Arthurs seruants Patr: Synnot & walter ô Murrow, aforesaid had releife from the said Arthur, as the deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the <m> said John to act as Lt to the said Collonel Browne in the said first yeare & after & that the deponent hath likewise seen the said John & seruants at the said Arthurs howse, harboured & Releiued by him the said Arthur
