James Peirce of Ballell gent aged forty yeares of thereabouts being duely sworne & examined Concerning the foresaid Arthur Cheeuers of Ballimadder gent saith & deposeth That in or about ffebr 1641: the deponent did see the said Arthur lead & bring a Number of men in Armes Consisting of twenty or thereabouts to the Irish forces encamped neere Duncannon beleagering the same, which Men were all or most of them tennants Liuing vnder the said Arthur, & well knowne to the deponent, but for the present the deponent hath forgotten their Names, & the said men being thither brought they were Joyned to Compleat the Company of one Gerrald Cheeuers a Captayne of the Irish & brother in law to the said Arthur, who was then at the seige aforesaid: And further saith that the said Arthur was [ ] <n> at the fight of Ballibegg on or about the ffebr or March 1642: Armed with a sword & pike siding with and the Irish & fighting against the english then and there vnder the Lord of Ormondes Comand: His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Arthur Armed as aforesaid, at Ballibegg the time aforementioned, but the deponent knoweth not what office or Comand the said Arthur did then execute, & further saith that George Cheeuers of Killyane brother to the said Arthur was at the seige of Duncannon about ffebr (1641: & then & there called Captayne the deponents cause of knowledge is that the deponent did see the said George there at that time, but what Number of men were vnder hi{s} Comand the deponent knoweth not, & further cannot depose
