The Examinacion of William Penrust of Enisc{orthy} yeoman, aged fiftie yeares or thereabouts taken vpon Oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth, Concerning Anthony Colclough of Moynart in the County of Wexford esquire &c
The Examinant saith that he well knew the said Anthony for that hee did frequently resorte to Eniscorthy the place of this deponents residence and dwelt at Moynart nigh Eniscorthy, with his the said Anthonyes brother Dudly Colclough esquire And further saith that the said Anthony did act and abet the Rebellyon and Robberyes in the first beginning of the same And did raise a Company of foote souldyers for the Irish against the english and was Captayne thereof, The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the <s> said Anthony marching in the front of his Company through the towne of Eniscorthy (the place of this deponents residence as aforesaid) and other partes of the Countrey: And further saith that the said Anthony was in Armes with a Company of men with him about the latter end of December 1641: at a place called the forde of Ballibane at which time and place this deponent (being at that time a protestant) with one Mrs Alcocke in his Company (who was likewise a protestant) was plundered of certaine parcells of plate, Rings, Jewells and such like things that this deponent & the said Mrs Alcocke were bringing from Rosse to Eniscorthy aforesaid which said Anthony at and after that time dwelt with and had releife & maintenance from his brother the said Dudly Colclough, and further saith not
