Tirlaugh Murphy of Clansarragh in the barrony of Shelbyrne and County of Wexford yeoman aged thirty fiue yeares or there abouts being duely sworne & examined Concerning the aforesaid John Colclough late of Tinterne gent deceased saith and deposeth that about the latter end of summer after the rebellyon brake forth this deponent being a souldyer vnder the Lord Esmond went forth with a partie out of the forte of Duncannon, to towardes Tinterne to enquire & be certainely informed whether the Lord of Ormond was Come into the Countrey with the english Armie, And vpon the returne of the partie homewardes they were Intercepted by an Ambush; laid by the said John Colclough <r> & one James Downes then guarrissoned at ffetherd which ambush being discouered the deponent was did see the said John Colclough in Armes on horsebacke, and by reason the said Johns horse was dull the english partie had nigh taken the said John Colclough a prissoner neuertheless hee the said John escaped and further saith not &c
