The Examinacion of Andrew Scurlocke of Roslare gent aged about Twenty nyne yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Richard Wadding of Ballivmphant Symon Synnott of <Rathdowny> [
<To the 1st Interr> The Examinant deposeth & saith that he well knew the said Richard Symon & John being sometimes in their Company & knoweth of his personall knowledge the said persons liued in the County of Wexford the first yeares & the rest of the <h> rebellyon in the Irish quarters, And did not thence remooue in to the english quarters As they might haue done with the english & protestants dwelling among them
<To the 2d interr> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3d interr> Hee deposeth and saith that he is very well assured that John Rooth did contribute his share of publicque Leuyes the first yeare & the whole time of the warre it being soe generall a thing that it could not be avoyded of any as the deponent conceiueth but whether the said Richard & <i> Symon contributed it is more then the deponent can averre they being Richard Liuing with his father & Symon being a seruant in Wexford the first yeare
<To the 4th Interr> Hee deposeth and saith that the deponent hath seen the said Richard Wadding in actuall Armes for the Irish against the english in the towne & County of Wexford in or about the yeare one thousand six hundred forty & six & <k> that as he well remembers, he hath seen the said John in Armes but is confident the said John hath been in armes for the Irish it being the custome of the Countrey people to weare Armes generally
<To the 5th Inter> Hee deposeth and saith that he hath (to the best of his remembrance) seen the said Richard Wadding & John <l> Rooth at seaverall publicque meetings of the Irish since the first yeare in order to the yeilding the their endeauours in furthering and promoting the rebellyon against the english

<To the 6th Interr> Hee deposeth & is confident that the said John Rooth was present at & Joyned with the gent of the Countrey at in the electing a man out of their barrony to goe to <m> Kilkenny to be a member of the generall assemblyes there being noe gentlemen (as the deponent conceiueth) exempted in that election.
<To the 7th interr> The examinant deposeth that the oath of associacion was a thing generally ministred to all & he beleiues the <n> said John Richard & Symon did take the said oath,
<To the 8th interr> Hee cannot depose
<To the 9th interr> Hee saith that he hath seen the said Richard Wadding in or about the said yeare 1646: Comand the Company of his the said Richards vncle Cossen Collonell Dauid Synnott <o> as Leiutenant thereof which office the said Richard did execute d for some yeares tyme.
<To the 10th Inter> Hee deposeth that the said Richard had a father by name Phillip Wadding who dwelte in the County of Wexford in the Irish quarters during the whole time of the <p> Rebellyon & as the deponent beleiues contributed his share of publicque Leuyes with his neighbours in the Countrey
<To the 11: 12 & 13th Inter> Hee cannot depose and further saith not
