Robert Browne of Knockingall yeoman aged thirtie yeares or thereaboouts being duely sworne & examined Concerning the foresaid James & John Barry, saith & deposeth that he well knew the said James & John to haue dwelt in the County of Wexford all the time of the rebellyon in the Irish quarters: And saith that the said <i> James & John did act & abet the rebellyon & robberyes in the first yeare of the said same This deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said James and John with one Richard Stafford of Kilkeanan & diuers others in Armes in their Companys before Christmas 1641 driuing seauerall cattle to their seauerall habitacions by them plundered from the english & protestants in Shelbyrne, And alsoe the deponent did see the said James and John in Armes acting as souldyers among the Irish that beleagered the english in Duncannon as well as at Christmas 1641: as in the March then next following & knoweth that the said John was ensigne & Leiutenant to Richard Stafford of Kilkeauan for the Irish about the yeare 1646 for that the deponent hath seen the said John to act in them seauerall Capacityes And further saith that he did see the said John in Company with the said Richard Stafford at the Camp when the english layd seige to wexford, as

Shortly after that which the said John fled from Kilkeauan (where he dwelt at which place seauerall english troopers were killed) into Duncannon forte then kept <k> by the Irish, whether he the said Richard stafford vpon the killing aforesaid likewise fled & further cannot depose
