The examinacion of William Oulton of wexford gardner aged fiftie yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Thomas Masterson of Cranecrinnaght in the barrony of and County of wexford esquire deceased
Vpon the whole matter of the Interrogatoryes the examinant saith that he well knew the said Thomas for that hee dwelt with Sir walsingham Cooke nigh to the said Thomas for diuers yeares before the rebellyon: And further saith That a little after Hallantide 1641: the said Thomas came with a great companie of men in Armes to the Number of eighty persons or thereabouts to Tomduffe the then dwelling howse of Sir walsingham Cooke knight this deponents master which howse he the said Thomas and his Companie entered and plunderred & carryed away all the goodes and Chattles therein to an exceeding great vallue And Imediately after he the said Thomas Masterson remooued himselfe <r> his family and stocke to the said howse of Tomduffe & dwelt there till about the Easter following at which time the said Thomas hauing a Companie of foote souldiers vnder his Comand, marched among the Irish forces to a place called Kilrush when and where hee the said Thomas Masterson was killed. The Deponents cause of knowledge is for that the Deponent was seruant to the said Sir walsingham, and in his howse at the time the said Sir Thomas Masterson & the rest with him entered the said howse of Tomduffe and plunderred the same in manner aforesaid and further saith not of which Companie & in which action he the said Thomas was cheife comander and further saith not
