The Examinacion of Shane oge Murcho of ffernes gentleman aged Sixtie three yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Robert Masterson of Court in the Barrony of Ballagkeen & County of wexford gent vpon the Interrogatoryes annexed to the Comission of Inquiry
<To the 1st Interr> The Deponent saith That the said Robert Dwelt at Court in the Barrony & County aforesaid the first yeare & the whole time of the rebellyon and from thence <t> did not remooue into the english quarters as Sir Walsingham Cooke knight and divers other english & protestants in them partes did: His cause of knowleg{
<To the 2d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th> The deponent saith that the said Robert did actually Contribute men money & prouisions to the Irish against the english for the promoting the Rebellyon and that the said Robert acted and abetted the said Rebellyon in the Capacity of a Cornet of horse in the Regiment troope of <u> Collonell Captain Art Cavanagh for the Irish against the english since the accesse of the Lord generall Cromwells forces to theese partes and after that the said Robert had taken and Lived vnder the protection of the english & was Contributory to the english forces: This deponents cause of knowledge is for that the said Art Robert did Come to this deponents howse & quartered there with his troopers, in the time that before the line was Contructed, and that the deponent did see the said Robert Come in, with the Irish that submitted and Layd downe Armes vpon Articles & since the said Robert is gone to Spaine <w> with the Irish souldyers that Came in vpon articles as aforesaid
<To the 5th inter> The Deponent saith that he did see the said Robert at the publicque meetings of the Irish in the

Barrony of Ballaghkeen at seauerall times since the first yeare of the said Rebellyon and since in order to forward and aduance the said Rebellyon against the english.
<To the 6th 7 8th & 9th> The examinant Cannot depose otherwise then that the said Robert was a Cornet for the Irish against the english <x> as aforesaid
<To the 10th inter> The deponent saith that the said Robert had a brother by Name Rowland Masterson, who was a Leiutenant for the Irish against the english in the Regiment of Collonell Cavanagh since the Lord generall Cromwells forces Came to this County of wexford and soe <y> the said Rowland Continued till the Irish submitted & layd downe Armes & afterwardes went to Spayne among the Rest of the Irish Army His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Rowland after his submission who informed the deponent that he was a Lieutenant & that he was bound for Spayne in that Capacity & that the said Rowland accompanied his said brother to Spayne among the said Irish partie as aforesaid
