The Examination of Garrott English Taken the 6o of November 1652
Sayth that hee was A soldier <A> vnder Leiut: Collonel Bourke att the seige of Cullin, beinge Commanded beinge Commanded by Leiut: Collonel Bourke to goe with him to that seruis. hee sayth that Lt Collonel Bourke, Miles Magrath, and Terlogh Mc Bryen were all Commanders there, And further sayth that Lt Collonel Bourke was Commander in Cheife of the seige and had the Order to that purpose, hee sayth that the said Lt: Collonel was absent when the people that Came out of Cullin were killed, beinge asked what the Tennor of the proclamation was by vertue whereof hee this Examinant tooke Armes, hee sayth itt was that all the gent: in the world (meanige Ireland) as hee afterward Expressed) should goe into Armes to bee in Rebellion, if soe itt bee called. hee sayth that <B> hee heard Josias Browne was Killed <292>by William Bourke fits Richard: and further sayth nott.
