Com ffermanagh The examinacion of Richard ffawsett taken vppon oath vppon the holy Evangellists at Iniskillen in the County of ffermanagh the Last of March 1654 before Robert Browning and John Carmuck gents by vertue of a Comission and bearing date the [
The said examinant vppon his oath sayeth that he and one Edward Grace together with about one hundred men of the English and Scotish nacion protestante (being surprized and taken <A> prisoners by the Rebells ab in severall partes of the County aforesaid And compelled to march along with them (in respect of the greater dreading and amasing of the rest of the English & protestants) Rory McGwire the cheife Ringleader of the Rebells in the County aforesaid tooke this examinant & the prisoners aforesaid among his Rebellious followers the 23 of December of December 1641 to the Castle of Tully (where many of the said Protestants were drawne together for security of their lives & as this examinant beleeueth for to defend that hold where the said Rebells haueing stayed that night in the field, the next day being the 24th of December 1641 hauing drawne the said protestants (whose names now this examinant remembreth not) to a parly by the meanes of one Bryan <B> McGrath (who since was drowned) the said Castle of Tully with the Armes of the said Protestants was yeelded vpon quarter to the said Rory McGwire & his Rebells vizt who faithfully promised them qurter for theire liues & to convey them in safety to any Brittish Guarrison that they would choose to goe vnto, The Lady Hume & one John Greere alias Langford Greere b y being the persons that Captain [

the said Castle of Tully, And in particular this examinant saieth that one Thomas McRory McGolbricke (now ryding in the Troupe under <C> the Comand of Maior Robert Ormesby in Conaght) & one Phelem O Muldoone did charge & thrust theire pikes into the body of a woman that fled then out of the gate there from the rest of the Murtherers. And he farther saith that one Mr It Capten Hugh booy McSheane og McGwire, and one Lieuetenant Neill McEdmond McHugh of the said Rebells party, and adherents were then present among the said Rebells with very many other Rebells whose names this examinant remembers not, But referres the better and further discovery therof vnto the Informacion of these English men & protestants following heere that is to say, Thomas Allen now at the hare Island in the Barony of Lurg in the said County, Robert Ossenbrooke now of Moywany in the said County William Bearde of Lurg in the said County, Richard Bearde, And William Ossenbrooke now of Tirhugh in the County of Donegall, And Edd{
