The examinacion of Georg Twilly of Dublin servant to mr Penington of Jamestreet aged about 30 yeares sworne and examined.
The examinant sayeth that att the begininge of the Rebellion & about a quarter of a yeare before he served Dean Bartley of Glaslogh Trughvtera in the County of Monaghan, and that on the risinge of the Rebellion one Neile Mc Canan possessed himself of the said Deanes house, & tooke him <A> prisoner and together with about ffifty or three skore English & Scotts men women & children all of the said Deanes family & tenants and about a month after he the said Neil McCanan Deane conveyed the said Deane to Eniskellinge & promised to protect the servants & the rest of the said family, & tenants with him att Trugh:vtera which he accordingly did for the space of three quarters of a <B> yeare, about which tyme Sir Phelym O neile with Turlogh Oge Oneile & many more Rebells in his Company, came to the said Trughvtera to the said Neil Mc Canan to make merry (as this examinant then conceived) whoe spyeinge soe many Englishe & Scotts there, he the said Sir Phelym vttered words to this effect in Englishe (Cozen Neil mc Canan I wonder that you should keepe soe many English & Scotts about your house) why said mc Canan, they be poore servants of the Deane, & I keepe them vnder myself, for you meed not feare what they
