The Examinacion of William Sym of Belfast Aged about 30 yeares taken the 19o may 1653
Whoe being deposed
Saith that at the begining of the Rebellion hee Livd in Armagh & continewed there tell about May following, And from that place was with 54 more Carryed to Charlemont Guarded by the Towne Company of Ardmagh Commaunded by Captain Crawly, but whither Captain Crawley was there himselfe with the Guard this Examinate <A> doth not remembr, which Guard deliuered them all to Captain Shane ô Neile then Gouernor of Charlemont & soe the Guard retornd againe to Armagh, of which Guard hee knew Edward ô ffarrall & Edward Pattricke Roe ô Mellan, Turlo ô Mackill which was three Souldiers of the said Guard, being at Charlemont this Examinate was taken from the Rest of the Company being a sadler by trade And there forst fforced to worke for Sir Phill: ô Neile & Continewed there at worke tell the Cessation, but what became of the rest this Examinate knew not they being all taken ouer the bridge at Charlemont the next day, And never heard what becam of any of them saue only one william Carmegg whoe is since dead, And further sath not
