The Examination of John Kimming of Saule in the County of Downe Adged 40 yeares or thereabouts taken before vs the 19th of May 1653
Whoe being duely sworne and examined saith that the next day after his ffather William Kimming escaped from the murder, made on sundry <A> persons taken out of the Church of Ballee, three miles distant from Ballihornan, his said ffather came to Downepatterick, where meeteing this deponet, tould him that himselfe and fiue men more, were brought bound out of the said Church by Art o Neile, Brother to Sir Bryan ô Neile and others in his Company to a place distant from the Church about two miles, and there murdered the said fiue persons, namely Charles Kimming William Kimming, John Carshan, Thomas mc Burny and William Maxwell, where they left them stript naked, but his said ffather in respect of his adge, and of a sore impediment in or about his groynes or yard, let him goe vnwounded, And this Examinet saith that on the third day after the said murder, this deponet and others, went to the place where the murdered bodyes were, and veiwing of them, saw that euery of them were cruelly wounded with cutts and stobbs in most parts of theire bodyes. And that this Examinet and William Carshan and others the same day, brought 3 of the of the Corps to Downepatterick and there buried them. And further saith not
