The examinacion of mich Garuy of the Newry in Com: Downe aged fifty yeares & vpwards & taken vpon oath 27 May 1653
Who saith that in or about January 1641 Mr Donnell Maginis & Mr Turlo Oge o Neale then haueing the chiefe comand of the <A> Newry & thereabouts one Con O Rony was sent from Drogheda with letters from Captain Patt: Treuor to Sir Edw: Treuor & being discoured to haue ben imployed as aforesaid he was hanged by the said Comanders orders or one of them as he credibly heard And further saith saith that one Patt: King of the Newry was in danger to be hanged also for interteining the said Post, & that the said Posts brother Patt Rony was also then in the Newry & liues at Edentrumly in Euagh And being demanded if he knew who massacred Lieut: Treuor & the rest of the prisoners sent out of Newry towards Downe saith, he saw them pass out of the Newry but knowes not who were actors in that fact but beleeues Edm: mc Brian [
